projection
7+
Design Statement:
7+ was a collaboration that resulted in an integrated media performance for the University of Texas College of Fine Arts’ Ears, Eyes, and Feet. Sarah designed the projection for the floor and rear projection screen for her collaborators, Lizzy (choreographer) and Steve (composer). The intention was to create a piece devoid of narrative, exploring nameless feeling. Color carries innate capacities to invoke feeling and experience. Thoroughly inspired by such modern and contemporary artists as Mark Rothko, James Turrell, Carlos Cruz Diez, and Olafur Eliasson, Sarah created shifting color fields and pulsing lines to envelope the dancers and audience members, and create a feeling/color-scape.
